Key Lime Pie

Ingredients


Pie
  1. 6 egg yolks
  2. 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  3. 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
  5. 1 graham cracker pie shell

Meringue
  1. 6 egg whites
  2. 4 tablespoons sugar

Topping
  1. Whipped cream

Preparation

Combine egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl. Mix well (8 minutes). Add lime juice and zest; mix until combined. Pour into graham cracker pie shell.

For the meringue, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over pie filling, sealing edges to crust.

Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes, or until meringue is a pale honey brown.
